National News: The tragic murder of Indore businessman Raja Raghuvanshi has taken a darker turn. Police sources have revealed that Sonam Raghuvanshi, his wife, had not one but two methods in mind to eliminate her husband. While the first plan involved hired killers, the second was something more personal, and terrifyingly cinematic. During their planned trip to Shillong, Sonam intended to stage a "selfie accident" where Raja would be pushed off a cliff, all under the guise of a holiday moment.

She called it her ‘Selfie Death Plan’. Investigators say it was cold, calculated, and chillingly rehearsed. Had the contract killers not succeeded, the murder would’ve looked like a tragic tourist mishap.

Love, Lies, and Lust for Freedom

What drove Sonam to such extremes? Investigations reveal an affair with Raj Kushwaha, a gym trainer from her locality. The two had been in constant touch for over a year. Deleted chats recovered by cybercrime officials reportedly show detailed conversations about eliminating Raja.It wasn’t just an impulsive crime of passion. It was rooted in a desire to be free, wealthy, and in control. Sonam allegedly promised Raj a share in Raja’s property once the deed was done.

Inside the Contract Killing Plot

The original murder plan was gruesome enough. Raj Kushwaha arranged for two contract killers from Gwalior to attack Raja on his way back from a family gathering. The plan was executed on a lonely stretch of road where the killers intercepted Raja’s car and bludgeoned him with iron rods.Despite CCTV footage and road witnesses, the murder initially looked like a robbery gone wrong. But a deeper probe into phone records led investigators to the door of Sonam and her lover.

Chilling Details from the Chargesheet

According to the chargesheet filed by Indore Police, Sonam showed no remorse during interrogation. Instead, she blamed her "unhappy marriage" and accused Raja of being controlling. However, relatives and friends of Raja deny any such behavior. The killers confessed that they were paid in advance and promised more upon completion. Their statements matched Raj’s call logs, sealing the web of betrayal.

A Crime Staged, A Nation Shocked

The murder has triggered nationwide outrage. Social media is ablaze with reactions, with many calling it one of the most spine-chilling betrayals in recent times. “How could a wife plan something so horrific?” one user asked. Psychologists say such layered planning reflects a deeply disturbed mind. Meanwhile, police say more arrests could follow as financial trails are still under investigation.

Justice Awaits but Scars Remain

Raja’s family is demanding a fast-track trial and maximum punishment. His brother tearfully told the media, “We never imagined the killer lived under the same roof.” The family's lawyer has appealed for a murder charge under IPC 302 and criminal conspiracy under IPC 120B. The investigation continues, but one thing is clear—this was not just a murder. It was a well-scripted betrayal in the name of love.
